User Deletion Policy
Effective Date: 14.06.2026 (Rev. 01)
User’s account information is removed from BIMPAI's production system within 24 hours of closing your account. However, BIMPAI generally deletes closed account information and de identifies any logs or other backup information within 30 days from the date of the closing of user’s account.
Here are some things to know about deleting your BIMPAI account:
- You can close your account by going to the account closure page in settings.
- Closing your account permanently deletes your profile and removes access to all your BIMPAI information.
- You can also delete certain types of data, such as:
- Editing your profile
- Comments made in posts
- Past searches
- In future after introducing premium account services, if you have a Premium account, you can cancel the Premium access, but still keep your free Basic account.
- Your public profile may be displayed in search engine results until the search engines refresh their cache.
Account Closure and Deletion
You can close your account by going to the account closure page in settings.
Once you initiate account closure, your personal profile will generally stop being visible to others on our Services within 24 hours.
We generally delete closed account information and de-identify logs and backups within 30 days of account closure, except as noted below.
Data We May Retain After ClosureWe may retain certain personal data even after you close your account if reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations (including law-enforcement or regulatory requests).
- Meet statutory record-keeping or retention requirements.
- Resolve disputes, enforce our User Agreement, or protect our legal rights.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse.
- Fulfil your request to unsubscribe from further messages from us.
We will retain de-personalised or aggregated information after your account has been closed, which can no longer be used to identify you.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable law, and in any event for no longer than is required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules (including any sector-specific retention requirements).
Data You Can Delete or Edit
- You may edit or delete certain types of data directly via your profile, including profile details, comments made on posts, and past searches.
- Information you have shared with others (for example, messages, emails, updates, group posts) may remain visible to those recipients after you delete it from your own profile or mailbox, and we do not control data that other Members have copied or stored outside our Services.
- Group content and ratings or review content associated with closed accounts may show an “unknown user” as the source.
Lawful Bases for Processing
We will only collect and process personal data about you where we have lawful bases, including:
- Consent – where you have given consent for specific processing activities.
- Contract – where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you (for example, to deliver the BIMPAI Services you have requested).
- Legitimate Interests – where we have a legitimate business interest in processing that is not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Where we rely on your consent to process personal data, you have the right to withdraw or decline your consent at any time via your account settings or by contacting us. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to such processing, subject to applicable law.
